With an altitude of 2,232 meters Mountain Falakro dominates in the north of Drama. It is one of the most beautiful mountains of Greek nature, and despite its name (Falakro = Bald) it is not “bald” at all. The lower altitudes are full of dense forests of oak, beech and conifers while there is a great variety of wildflowers in the alpine zone.

On the slopes of Mountain Falakro there are the picturesque villages of Volakas, Pyrgoi and Granitis with their own cultural identity, traditional atmosphere and excellent regional cuisine. Falakro is always accessible to visitors even if it is winter. By car can you can follow the road and go up to 1750 meters high. You will also find a very well organized ski center there.
